How we work

working with Email Kong.

Email Kong runs Klaviyo email, SMS and Loop subscriptions for Shopify DTC brands on a monthly retainer, with a quote after a free audit of your account. This page answers the questions brands ask us before they sign: what it costs and why, the term, how fast things go live, how we report, the access we need and how switching from another agency works.

Pricing

how pricing works.

Most clients pay a monthly retainer that covers both flows and campaigns: strategy, copy, design, set-up in Klaviyo, sending and reporting, all done by our in-house team. If your flows need a full rebuild, we can also quote that as a separate project, either on its own or alongside campaigns.

We send your quote after the free audit, because the price depends on what your account needs: how many flows need rebuilding, how many campaigns a month, whether you run SMS, how many stores and languages, and whether you need the subscription side on Loop. We don't publish package prices for that reason, but retainers start from $5,000 a month.

If you want a feel for the market before the call, our Klaviyo agency pricing guide covers what agencies charge in 2026 and what drives the price.

We only work on a fixed monthly fee. We never charge a percentage of your revenue or a performance fee.

Terms

minimum term and notice.

We ask for a 3-month minimum. After that, you can leave any time with 4 weeks' notice.

Everything we build sits in your own Klaviyo account and Loop store, so if you leave, the flows, templates, segments and forms stay with you.

Timeline

how fast we start and when flows go live.

Onboarding takes 1 week. In that week you fill in a short onboarding form about your brand, products, offers and codes, give us access, and we hold a kick-off call.

We start on campaigns straight away. Our 72-hour flow build guarantee means your first flow is live within 72 hours of us getting access to your account, and the core flows are live within 30 days. The flows that cost you the most get rebuilt first, which is usually welcome, checkout abandonment and post-purchase.

How long until you see results depends on where you start, but flows earn from the day they go live. For one example, Kaori launched 4 new flows on 6 July 2026, and in the 90 days that followed, flow revenue reached $554,913, up from $31,358 in the 90 days before.

Reporting

how we report and how often we talk.

Your account manager sends you 2 updates every week in a Slack channel we share with your team. Monday's is the plan for the week. Friday's is the results: email and SMS revenue from Klaviyo, campaigns against flows, the biggest win, test results, and for subscription brands, subscription saves and sign-ups.

On top of that you get a monthly report and a monthly call with your account team, and Bogdan joins a call with you every quarter. Your team works with a flows manager and a campaign manager, with copy and design done in-house.

Access

the access we need.

We ask for Admin access, because connecting our reporting and testing tools needs Klaviyo's API, which only Admin users can set up. You can remove us at any time. We also need access to Shopify, so we can check orders and revenue against Klaviyo. If you run subscriptions on Loop, Recharge or Skio, we need access to that too.

We run SMS on Klaviyo SMS, so it needs no extra access. If you use another SMS platform, ask us and we'll tell you what we can do.

For onboarding we also ask for your brand assets, your current offers and discount codes, and a 30-minute kick-off call.

Switching agencies

switching from your current agency.

61% of the brands that request our audit have worked with an agency before, so switching is something we handle often. Most brands time our start to the end of their current agency's notice period.

Overlap

We can start the audit while your current agency is still in place, so we know the account before they leave and there's no gap in sending.

Handover

Everything your current agency built is already in your Klaviyo account, so there's very little to hand over. It helps to get their campaign calendar for the next few weeks, any discount codes that are live in flows, and a list of any A/B tests still running.

Keeping what works

We don't rebuild for the sake of it. We check each flow's revenue over the last 90 days before we touch it, keep the ones that are earning, and replace the ones that aren't.

Guarantees

what we commit to.

We don't guarantee revenue or attribution numbers, because results also depend on things outside email, like your ad spend, stock, offers and site. What we do commit to is speed, reporting and a short term.

Speed

Our 72-hour flow build guarantee: your first flow is live within 72 hours of us getting access to your account.

Reporting

A monthly report and a monthly call, on top of the 2 Slack updates every week.

A short term

The minimum term is 3 months, then 4 weeks' notice.

What we can show you is what happened for other brands, with the dates and the numbers: Penrose Skin went from 15.2% to 23.2% of store revenue from email while the store grew 3.4 times, and TwoPackBag made $1.38M in flow revenue in the last 90 days.

Multi-store

more than 1 store or region.

We already run brands with separate stores for different countries and languages, including a US store with a Spanish sister store, and brands with 2 sister brands under 1 owner. Each store gets its own campaign calendar, timed to its own holidays, currency and language, while the flows are built once and adapted for each store, with translation where needed.

If you have separate Klaviyo accounts for the US and UK, we can run the same strategy in both and report on each. We price each extra store or country on the call, once we know what it needs.

Black Friday

when to start for Black Friday.

Black Friday 2026 is on 27 November. To have rebuilt flows live and a full November calendar planned, new clients need to sign by 1 November.

Fit

who we're a fit for.

We're a good fit if you are:

A Shopify DTC brand on Klaviyo, or ready to move to it

Doing over $2M a year in revenue, or smaller and growing

Selling subscriptions on Loop, or thinking about it

Selling products people buy more than once, like supplements, skincare and pet products, or durable products where the second order comes from accessories and gifts

We're probably not the right fit if you are:

Pre-launch, or without a list to send to yet

Planning to stay on another email platform

Looking for design-only work, like one-off email designs without a plan behind them

Most of our clients do over $2M a year, and we take smaller brands too. The free audit shows what a retainer would cover at your size.
