Subscription results at a glance
These are the subscription results we have published so far. Each one comes from the brand's own case study, which gives the time window and how it was measured.
| Brand | Platform | What we changed | Result | Case study |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kaori | Loop | Rebuilt the cancel flow inside Loop. The cancel page now explains how the soap works, and we tested a video against the text. | Cancel-flow saves went from 4.3% to 60% by October 2026, 14 times the rate before. Klaviyo went from 3.3% to 19% of store revenue. | Read the Kaori case study |
| Ritual Labs | Loop | New emails for subscribers who pause, cancel or have a payment fail. 7 win-back emails to cancelled subscribers, each with a button that restarts the subscription in 1 click. | Cancelled subscribers restarted at about 9 times the rate of a normal day around each send. Cancels per 100 renewal orders fell from 64 to 47 in 3 months. | Read the Ritual Labs case study |
| HolySwish | Checkout Champ | Connected the checkout to Klaviyo so pauses, cancels and failed payments reach it, then rebuilt the subscriber emails. 7 win-back emails with half off the first box back. | About 7 in every 100 lapsed subscribers restarted their plan within a month. Email revenue grew 2.6x, with renewals taken out. | Read the HolySwish case study |
| KittySpout | Loop | Put video on the cancel page and swapped a 3-month discount for one simple 40% last-chance offer. | Cancel-flow saves went from 6% to 43% by October 2026, 7.2 times the rate before. | Read the KittySpout case study |
| Penrose Skin | Loop | Rewrote the cancel page in customers' own words and tested it against the old one inside Loop. | Cancel-flow saves went from 9% to 38% by October 2026, 4.2 times the rate before. | Read the Penrose Skin case study |
How we cut subscription churn
We work inside the subscription app and in Klaviyo at the same time. Most subscribers are lost in 4 places: the cancel page, a failed card, the weeks after a cancel and the gap after the second order. Each gets its own fix.
1. Cancel flows: skips and slower deliveries before discounts
A good cancel flow asks why the subscriber is leaving, then answers that reason with one fitting option. Too much product gets a skip or a slower delivery. A break gets a pause. Taste or fit gets a swap. Only the price reasons get a discount, and then one clear offer. Across the subscription brands we run on Loop, "I have enough or too much product" is the #1 cancel reason, at about 23% of cancel attempts in the last 90 days, and a discount does not fix that.
The cancel page also has to explain the product. Kaori's cancel page now explains how the soap works, and KittySpout's has a video. At KittySpout, one simple 40% last-chance offer replaced a 3-month discount. The full method is in our guide to subscription cancel flows.
2. Win-back with a 1-click restart
Subscribers who have already cancelled get a short run of win-back emails. Each one carries a button that restarts the subscription in 1 click, so there is no portal and no login between the email and the restart.
The offer matters as much as the button. At Ritual Labs, a small account credit brought back nobody. A bigger discount on the first box back, with the 1-click button, brought cancelled subscribers back at about 9 times the normal rate. At HolySwish, half off the first box back, then the old schedule after that, brought back about 7 in every 100 lapsed subscribers within a month.
3. Failed payment recovery
A failed payment is a subscriber who wanted to stay and lost the subscription to a card problem. We set retries by failure reason, send a one-click card-update link by SMS and email on chosen retries, save any incentive for late retries or hard failures, and end by pausing the subscription. We set up and run payment recovery in Loop for 6 subscription brands. See our guide to failed payment recovery.
4. The order-2 drop-off
Many subscribers leave right after their second order. At Ritual Labs, more than half of the subscribers who paid for a second order cancelled before a third. So the early emails set honest expectations for the first months, explain what is in the product and how long it takes to work, and we test a reason to stay at exactly that point. At Ritual Labs, that test is a free gift.
5. Checkout Champ event bridging
Checkout Champ's native Klaviyo plugin sends order and checkout events. The subscription lifecycle, such as failed rebills, cancels, pauses and upcoming charges, lives in Checkout Champ's postbacks, which the plugin does not use. We connect those postbacks to Klaviyo so each subscription event lands on the right profile, drop duplicates from Checkout Champ's retries, and build the lifecycle flows on top. For HolySwish, subscription events were flowing into Klaviyo within days. The full setup is on our Checkout Champ Klaviyo agency page.
